Self care ideas

I will be the first person to admit that I never use to take time for me. If I wasn’t at college, I was doing college work. If I wasn’t working, I was doing work to work towards extra qualifications. Since becoming a parent, I realised that you literally can’t do everything in 24 hours and as a result became ill. My body just couldn’t keep up anymore, so I knew something had to change. I never realised what a difference 1 hour a week can make to your body and you sanity.

Self-care can be anything from doing nothing to writing a blog post. It’s what makes you happy. I struggled at first to relax and to accept I need time.

So to help kick start you off here are some ideas for some self-care;

  • Peace and quiet
  • Pamper yourself- This applies to men and women. It can include anything from having your hair cut to cutting your toe nails.
  • Read your favourate book
  • Do your favourate craft
  • Go for a walk
  • Go to the gym
  • Have an early night
  • Have a movie night
