7 Steps to starting 2021 on the right foot

This time last year we all thought 2020 would THE year! The year we all got everything we worked hard for and it obviously didn’t work out that way.  2020 was a shit show, to say the least, and whilst we don’t know what 2021 is truly going to hold for us, I think now more than ever people need a fresh start!

Having everything in all tidy and how you would like it will you think clearer and help keep your mind clear.

So here are the 3 things you should do to kick start 2021 on the right foot.

Set yourself some goals!

I think the best way to starts off is to set goals. I always set myself so goals at the beginning of each year, I love the feeling when you get to tick off, a goal.

One thing to remember is to keep your goals achievable. There isn’t any point in aiming to take a trip that costs £20,000 if you haven’t got any money saved. Instead, why don’t you aim to save £200 each month.

Go through your home and get rid of anything that doesn’t make you happy!

After spending 9 months in lockdown I would imagine a lot of us have accumulated a lot of stuff. Nows the best time to go through and get rid of anything that doesn’t bring you happiness?

I have gone through and got rid of any clothes they didn’t fit me anymore, I have also gone through my computer and emails and deleted any files and emails that are no longer needed!

I also like to go through and give the house a good clean, make sure all of my washing is done, check the cupboards for expired foods, really do anything that I wouldn’t normally think of.

Take anything unwanted to charity shops!

Make sure that everything is out of your home and where they need to be. Not only will it lessen the clutter in your home but it will also stop those old things creepy their way back into their old homes.

Set your budget for each month

I think this is a good thing to do even if you aren’t saving for something in particular. Setting yourself a budget is a good way to have a healthy relationship with money!

Give your car a check!

Go through your car and make sure everything is clean and running smoothly. Make sure your antifreeze and oil are topped up and your tyres are in a good condition!

If your not confident enough to do the check your self head over to your local Halford and get their free 5 point check

Pre-book any appointments you may need

We all know that everyone rushes to get their appointments booked after the new year. Get one step ahead of everyone else and get it all booked in!

Go through clean your phone

I go through and delete any old or duplicate photos from my phone. I also transfer any that are left over to a hard drive so that I can delete everything off and start clean!

This also is the case for texts and phone numbers!

I hope that these tips help start 2021 with a bang!  I also really hope that 2021 brings you everything you wish!
