11 steps you need to do in you digital Spring clean!

As the year begins I love to take some time to get everything sorted. I go through and i sort out my house and my car but I always forget to have a digital spring clean! With this in mind I thought that maybe I’m not the only one that keeps forgetting! So if you are looking to do a digital ‘spring clean’ in January, April or December then continue reading!

Go through and get your unread count to 0!

You don’t have to go through and read every single email. If your like me you will have 12345 unread emails and let be honest half of them are probably emails wouldn’t spend time reading any way.

Unsubscribe to newsletters

Relating to the statement above. Go through your emails and unsubscribe from any newsletter you no longer/ haven’t read. This will stop your emails building up so quickly!

Delete Emails

No go through and delete any emails no longer need. Make sure you triple check you no longer need an email before deleting it. The amount of times I have accidentally clicked an email with and appointment in that I still needed!

Sort emails into files and filters.

Now you have all the emails you need left, sort them into folders and filters to make them easier to find when you need them!

Delete any unused documents

The best way to start is by getting rid of what you no longer need. Go through and delete and duplicates that you have of photos and documents. We all download the same files twice at some point! This will free up so much space on your hard drive.

Put files and documents into files

It’s so hard to find the files you need when you need them when your desktop or documents are in a mess. So take some time to go through and sort your documents and pictures into clear labeled files.

Clear all data and Cookies.

To give your computer speed a boost, give your computer a disk clean. You can do this by going to your settings. Also go to your web browser and delete your browser history and any cookies.

Go through your contacts

Go through your contacts and delete anyone you haven’t spoken to in the past year! This will give you plenty of space for new people in your phone.

Delete any photos you don’t need or any multiples  you have on your phone!

I know for a fact that my phone is full of pictures of black background or of nostrils from when my children get a hold of my phone. Go through and delete these.

Don’t forget to back up you photos on something like Icloud or Google drive!

Delete old and unused apps

If your apps are in folders on your phone take them all out and onto your home screen! This will allow you to see exactly what you have! If you haven’t used the app in the last 3 months, DELETE IT!

Social media

Go through and unfollow anyone you no longer find useful!

Go through all of your social media accounts and unfriend, unfollow or delete anyone who you no longer find brings you happiness. It doesn’t make you a bad person to remove people who no longer serve you!
